Project Type: Voice Survey
Honorarium: 100 GBP
Time Commitment: 20 mins
We are conducting a short research study, commissioned by a client of Woozle Research, into how legal research is carried out today and how artificial intelligence tools are being adopted within legal workflows. We are looking to speak with professionals who use or oversee legal research tools and services as part of their day-to-day work. This includes lawyers, in-house counsel, legal knowledge and information managers, law librarians, paralegals and legal operations professionals, as well as those responsible for evaluating, purchasing or renewing legal research and AI-enabled software within their organisation. Both practitioners who work hands-on with these platforms and those with budget or vendor-selection responsibility are relevant. You are likely to be a good fit if you can speak from direct, recent experience of using legal research tools, or of assessing AI-based tools in a legal or regulatory setting. If your role has no involvement in legal research or in the selection and use of these tools, this study will not be a suitable match.
The discussion will focus on how legal research is conducted in practice, the tools and platforms currently relied upon, and how those choices are made. We will explore themes such as workflow and day-to-day usage, criteria used when selecting or renewing providers, perceptions of the main tools available in the market, the perceived benefits and limitations of AI-enabled features, how quality and trust in outputs are judged, and how buying decisions, budgets and contract renewals are approached. We are also interested in broader attitudes towards the adoption of AI in legal work, including any barriers to uptake and how expectations are changing over time. The conversation is exploratory — we are seeking your candid professional perspective rather than any confidential, client-specific or privileged information, and you should not disclose anything covered by professional duties of confidentiality or by agreements with your employer.
This is a voice survey conducted by telephone with one of our research analysts, and it takes approximately twenty minutes. It follows a structured set of questions, with scope for you to expand where you have particular insight. Calls are arranged at a time that suits you, including outside standard working hours. Participants are compensated for their time at an honorarium of GBP 100.00. The study is running over the coming weeks, and participation is entirely voluntary.
